Hello, I'm Rebecca. Thank you for taking a look.

I have been documenting life on farms and agricultural events for over 10 years. It is a privilege to capture the essence of rural life - everything that is good,real and rugged about this country's primary industries.

Life behind my camera is a long way from my origins in Cardiff, Wales. After training in Estate Management in London, I travelled and met my Kiwi husband in Israel. We returned to the stunning East Coast of New Zealand in 1990 to run the family farm and raise three children.

Horses and dogs are a regular part of farm life, and our horses were often a focus of my early photography. Later, I sought opportunities to capture different aspects of rural life and community connections.My images document the rhythm of stock sales,dog trials and farm field days. I've been lucky enough to spend time with farm cadets,shearers and in our region's orchards and packhouses. 

In 2018 I further developed my photography skills by completing the Southern Institute of Technology's Level 5 Diploma in Photography.

I particularly enjoy documenting animals and more recently I've become fascinated with our country's working rural dogs.

Whether they are herding or hunting,yarding or yelping, huntaway and heading dogs are still a cornerstone of the sector. They work tirelessly for their owners in all types of weather. It's the glimpses of loyalty to their human masters and their selfless reliability, that I seek to capture.
